Captured over the course of a couple of weeks in Manchester and London, the series of Christmas adverts called, “King of the Game,” feature about twenty up-and-coming football stars and musicians having fun and competing against one another in an arcade. With only a short time to capture each of the subjects, James used a top flash and burned in ambient light to create a wonderous and playful mood. Punctuated by the neon lights of the arcade, these fresh icons are set against pinball machines, claw games filled with colorful stuffed toys, and bedazzled backdrops that spark nostalgia. It’s no wonder that shoppers eagerly await these Christmas adverts that dress double-decker buses and shopping mall entrances around town.
